The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 Gets Delayed to 2023
Eiji Aonuma, the producer for the Legend of Zelda franchise, released an update video today letting fans know that Breath of the Wild 2 will be delayed until Spring 2023. Originally, the game was set to release sometime this year, but Aonuma told us that the Zelda team has decided to extend the development time for the game, so that will no longer be the case. "For those of you who have been looking forward to a release this year, we apologize," said Aonuma.
He also reiterated how the sequel will focus not only on the ground but in the skies above Hyrule as well, and how there will be a variety of features, new encounters, and gameplay elements for players to enjoy."In order to make this game's experience something special, the entire development team is continuing to work diligently on this game, so please wait a while longer," said Aonuma. During the update video, we got to see new footage of the game albeit for only a few seconds. We see Link holding a broken Master Sword and a bright golden light floating in front of him. This is the first time the legendary blade of evil's bane has ever deteriorated to such an unprecedented degree. Zelda theorists believe that Ganon's malice has damaged the sword and our main goal in this game is to repair it back to its original splendor.
Whatever the case may be, there is little doubt that the sequel will be an incredible adventure for the franchise and we cannot wait to see what else Aonuma and his team have in store for us.
