Microsoft Buys Activision Blizzard For Almost $70 Billion.

Microsoft has purchased Activision Blizzard in a $68.7 billion deal. This is such huge news because Microsoft now has ownership over all of Activision's franchises, including Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon, two prominent and iconic IPs in the gaming industry that were Sony's mascots. This means that any new entry for these games will be potentially exclusive to Xbox systems only.

Some fans of Crash and Spyro are worried about the future of their favorite bandicoot, and purple dragon as their games have always been available on Playstation and sometimes on other platforms. Now because of the deal, fans who don't have an Xbox are concerned that they will miss out on new releases of Crash and Spyro.

Additionally, Activision has been embroiled in a scandal regarding sexual harassment in the workplace. Numerous gamers have condemned the company for its actions, with some refusing to purchase their games going forward. However, now that Microsoft owns the company, some believe that Microsoft has to bear the responsibility for Activision's scandalous actions.

Bobby Kotick, the CEO of Amazon-Blizzard, will also be resigning once the buyout is complete sometime next year. He will be walking away with a $390 million check.
